Met trots kondigt het Conservatorium van Amsterdam (CvA) Sandrine Chatron aan als hoofdvakdocent harp, met ingang van september 2024. Ze volgt Erika Waardenburg op, die komend studiejaar met pensioen gaat. Al sinds 2012 is Sandrine verbonden aan het CvA als docent partijstudie. Ook geeft ze hier ieder jaar de Auditietraining harp voor harpisten uit binnen- en buitenland.
Kees Koelmans, hoofd Snaarinstrumenten: ‘Met Sandrine hebben we een topspeler in huis die ook op het pedagogisch vlak haar sporen heeft verdiend: ze is al vele jaren buitengewoon succesvol als docent partijstudie aan het CvA. Sandrine volgt Erika Waardenburg op als boegbeeld van de onder Erika wereldberoemd geworden Amsterdamse harpklas. Wij verheugen ons enorm op de samenwerking en zijn er van overtuigd dat de CvA-harptraditie bij Sandrine in goede handen is en op een gezonde manier verder zal groeien.’
Sandrine Chatron heeft een indrukwekkende internationale carrière opgebouwd. Als concert- en kamermusicus heeft ze opgetreden in heel Europa, Azië en Noord-Amerika. Ze heeft gewerkt met de belangrijkste Franse orkesten, zoals Opéra de Paris, Orchestre de Paris en Orchestre National de France en treedt ook op met Klangforum Wien, het Mahler Chamber Orchestra, de Berliner Philharmoniker, het Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest en het Lucerne Festival Orchestra. Sinds 2009 is ze soloharpiste van het Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest. Ze is lid van het trio Polycordes, dat zich richt op hedendaagse muziek, en speeltregelmatig met Ensemble Intercontemporain, waarmee ze Pierre Boulez’ Sur incises heeft opgenomen voor Deutsche Grammophon.
