Fundraising Intern

24 to 32 hours per week

Are you a bachelor or master student ready to take your fundraising skills to the next level this summer? Join the Prince Claus Fund as a Fundraising Intern and become part of our dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with our Head of Fundraising, Fundraising Coordinator and Fundraising Officer to gain insight into the world of arts and culture fundraising, gather valuable experience and contribute to our mission of supporting artists, thinkers, and cultural change makers worldwide. While this role focuses on managing data and supporting the team, this is a fantastic opportunity for those seeking a work experience placement to showcase their skills and make a real impact.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Research and Prospect Identification
    • Conduct in-depth research to identify potential donation sources and interesting leads for Fundraising, together with the Fundraising Coordinator and Officer.
    • Assist in prospect research for foundations, corporate and individual donors by reading and summarizing annual reports, sustainability reports and news coverage.
  • Administrative Assistance and Database Management
    • Improve the accuracy of the Fundraising team’s database by proactively updating contacts and organisational information of the Fund’s global network of artists, cultural institutions and other external relations.
    • Take the lead in the data management of relations in PerfectView (CRM), including accurately logging fundraising actions, scanning and filing of documents, and archiving outdated data.
    • Provide essential administrative support to the team, including financial administration, arranging gifts and mailings.
  • Workflow Optimization
    • Collaborate with the Fundraising Officer to establish effective workflows between the different departments of the Fund.
    • Assist in developing and executing organisational strategies to efficiently classify data sets.
  • Event Support and Representation
    • Provide valuable assistance during fundraising events for key stakeholders including during program-related and public events.
    • Represent the Prince Claus Fund with professionalism and integrity.

Your profile

  • Fluent English is required; Dutch language skills to read text and effectively communicate with our international stakeholders is preferred.
  • Engaged in a higher education level study (HBO or WO, or equivalent).
  • Experience in back office, data management or CRM administration is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Solid research and writing skills: able to distill complex text into concise summaries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively to deliver projects on time.
  • Passion for the arts and cultural sector.

What we offer
We offer a challenging and rewarding position on an international level, working with a creative, dedicated team within a dynamic organisation that has a wide international network of artists and cultural practitioners. Our office is in Amsterdam and employs around twenty people in total. Due to interns, volunteers and freelancers, this number varies. Our hybrid working environment mixes in-office and remote work to offer flexibility and support to employees. Everyone is requested to work from the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

This internship position is available for three to six months (to be decided in consultation), starting from June 1st (to be decided in consultation). The expected commitment is three to four days per week. The Prince Claus Fund provides a monthly allowance of € 333,35 (24 hours per week) and € 500,- (32 hours per week).

Applicants need to be based in the Netherlands and be in possession of a valid BSN number. This is not a remote position.
