Marieke van Schaik is joining the board of Cultural Emergency Response (CER) in Amsterdam. Marieke’s leadership at the Rode Kruis was transformative, guiding critical responses to the Covid-19 pandemic and the Ukraine crisis. Her experience as a consultant, team coach, mediator, and supervisory board member has made her a trusted expert in development, welfare, culture, and emergency relief.

Here’s what Marieke shared about her new role:

Safeguarding heritage is crucial, as it enables communities to reconnect with their history and identity after a crisis.
