Wright Piano School (WPS) provides high quality piano instruction to students in The Hague and surrounding areas. Individual lessons emphasise sustainable progress across all levels, and these lessons include technique, theory, ear-training, music history, and repertoire study. Students perform at least four times per year in student concerts and optionally participate in other activities such as guest masterclasses. Our facilities include a large concert space with a Steinway D. Students range in level from beginners to advanced.

WPS is looking for a piano teacher for maternity cover starting September 2024 with the possibility of extension.

Piano Teacher

5 to 10 hours per week

Are you an independent piano teacher with a passion for working with children? Are you willing to learn and adapt? WPS is looking for you!

Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly individual lessons to students.
  • Create and maintain your own weekly teaching schedule.
  • Follow the WPS calendar.
  • Maintain contact with parents.
  • Maintain professional standards of behaviour, including timeliness and communication.
  • Attend student recitals.
  • Reasonably adapt teaching style to provide continuity for transfer students.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in piano or piano pedagogy.
  • Dutch language (interviews will be conducted in Dutch).
  • At least two years of teaching experience.
  • Patience to work with students of all levels.

Preferred

  • Cross-cultural experience.
  • Experience working with neuro-divergent students.
  • Evidence of interest in piano pedagogy, such as own research, EPTA membership, or any relevant professional development activities.
  • Ability to teach from your own home or studio in The Hague or surroundings (we compensate extra for this).
