The Royal Academy of Art (KABK) forms with the Royal Conservatoire (KC) the University of the Arts, The Hague. We offer HBO bachelor and master education, as well as preparatory courses. There is an intensive collaboration with Leiden University: students can take electives on both sides, there is a PhD program, and a double degree program will soon start. The KABK is located in the center of The Hague.
The computer workshop is open to students from all departments and knowledge levels. The computer workshop is the place where all the knowledge around printing and all the digital processes involved come together. It is a space that offers many creation opportunities, through equipment that students are free to explore with, when necessary, help from the computer workshop team. Students can create and design there in both 2D and 3D using a good range of software. Students can print there in both small and large format. In addition, the computer workshop works closely with the multimedia workshop for the widest possible range of knowledge and equipment in the digital field.

What will you do?
- Manage, maintain and administer the workshop equipment together with the computer workshop team;
- Coordinate the workshop by being the point of contact for immediate colleagues, together with other workshop coordinators and the head of workshops;
- Be the first point of contact for teachers regarding teaching support;
- Guide, advise and support students on sometimes complex technical issues and/or research especially in the area of desktop publishing (DTP);
- Producing tutorials and in the future providing software instruction independently;
- Encourage communication and cooperation between the workshop and teachers.
Your profile
- You have experience and can handle computer, graphics, print software including the Adobe Creative Cloud applications on Mac and Windows operating systems at an advanced level;
- You are good at transferring knowledge and skills;
- You are critical and enterprising. You explore the boundaries of the field;
- You can take responsibility, keep an overview during busy periods and remain service oriented;
- You have experience with a coordinating role;
- You have experience with DTP;
- Flexibility in working days is a plus;
- Knowledge of Blender/ Cinema 4D/ CAD is a plus;
- You hold a BHV diploma or are willing to obtain one.
What do we offer you?
A dynamic position with plenty of room for your own input and plenty of opportunities to continue to develop yourself. The salary is up to € 3.691,27 gross per month according to scale 8 of the cao-hbo, on a full-time basis. It is a structural position, starting with a one year contract. The cao-hbo has a generous leave scheme, 8% vacation allowance and 8.3% year-end bonus. You can also participate in health insurance and/or disability insurance on favorable terms.
