About the team
Are you up for being challenged by our students to tackle the ‘impossibilities’ within your field or specialism? Do you have the drive to push the boundaries within your workshop, and collaborate with fellow workshops in search for radical solutions?

This will be the atmosphere you breathe! You will be working independently in the 3D-Print Workshop. You will form a team with one other colleague, and together you will support and guide students with 3D-printing, 3D-scanning and laser-cutting. This will be done through providing basic training for the use of machines and (software)tools available within the workshop, and as you help them realise their projects.

What will you be doing
As our Workshop Instructor you will be responsible for the guidance of students in their design assignments, and the supervision and management of the workshop. You seek to harmonize and connect with the lecturers, your workshop colleagues, and associated companies. To ensure the continued quality of the facilities on offer, you will take initiatives to improve them through submitting proposals to the Workshop Team Coordinator. Proposals for improvements will be in the areas of user friendliness, introducing new finishing materials, technical feasibility, cost efficiencies, working conditions, health and safety, and environmental impact.

You will require a broad knowledge on related techniques, and provide insights into the correlation between your own working field and related fabrication and prototyping processes. You will develop instruction material and compile introductions on the technical background of working with the resources, facilities, materials, machines and equipment in the workshop.

What you will bring to the team

  • Higher vocational, professional and intellectual education, and/or relevant qualifications.
  • In-house emergency basics certificate.
  • Experience in teaching higher vocational education is an advantage.
  • Pedagogical and professional didactic knowledge and skills.
  • Technical and technological insights into the possibilities, solutions and deployment of machines, equipment, and materials.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of CAD software, including Rhino 3D & Grasshopper, Solidworks, Fusion360 (and possibly also: Blender, Cinema 4D / 3ds Max).
  • Demonstrable experience with contemporary 3D printing techniques, including a thorough command of FDM & SLA 3D-printing techniques, through which you can describe yourself as a model maker.
  • It is a plus to have an affinity for robotics / VR / game development / programming (Arduino / Raspberry Pi), and relevant knowledge of electronics for support for PCBs and soldering components.
  • A practical attitude; you help to ensure the continuity of the workshop.
  • An Independent, proactive and flexible attitude, with flexibility about working evenings;
  • A communicative and customer-friendly attitude.
  • An eagerness to push the boundaries.
  • Knowledge and skills to plan and organize work processes and develop instructional material.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written Dutch and English.

Our offer
We offer you a challenging position in an international and dynamic working environment. It is a part-time position of 16 hours per week, spread over multiple days, with a provisional contract of 1 year. Salary indication is in the range between € 2.757,- and € 3.691,- per month for full time employment (scale 8). The employment terms are in accordance with the collective labour agreement CAO-HBO, including a holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3%.
