International Film Festival Rotterdam is one of the largest cultural events in the Netherlands, distinguished by a unique film programme, the presence of a large festival audience and its support for young, up-and-coming filmmakers from all over the world. The strong programming and the diverse audience reach are among the starting points for the many partnerships that the festival has.

During the twelve festival days, Rotterdam transforms into a dynamic film city, where a diverse audience, from seasoned cinephiles to the youngest film buffs, come to enjoy the wide range of events on offer. The buzz also attracts a range of people to do business, from international film professionals to local entrepreneurs. A festival of this size and ambition is made possible in part by our various public and private financiers and partners, as well as the crucial structural involvement of our main partners; the Vriendenloterij, Fonds 21, vfonds, de Volkskrant and Stichting Droom en Daad.

About your role
We do not have a fixed package of tasks, but the goal is to continue to bind, attract and strengthen partners, both locally and (inter)nationally. How we achieve that is largely up to you!

There are a few qualities needed for this, such as: guts, persuasiveness, self-confidence, a love for Rotterdam and our offer, entrepreneurial spirit, empathy and energy. We also expect a level of education that is appropriate for this position and the ability to represent the organisation at a high level. Experience and bringing your own network in Rotterdam or (inter)nationally is an advantage.

We are looking for a colleague who presents IFFR firmly to the outside world and who moves easily within the organisation. For this role it is very important that you have initiative, coordination skills, strategic insight, you are always looking for opportunities and know how to maintain relationships.

You will work directly with a talented fundraiser and a relationship manager. The working language in the team is English. In addition, you work closely with the marketing team and coordinate team goals with the business director.

Our employership
IFFR works with a fantastic permanent team of 45 professionals who have a great love for films, festivals and Rotterdam. This team expands every year around the festival with over 120 professionals. In addition, due to the importance we see the societal position of the organisation, we think it is important to be a place of learning, which is why we offer internships for different courses and levels of education year-round.

Terms of employment
We offer a dynamic workplace with many learning opportunities in the heart of Rotterdam. The IFFR team is an ambitious team that sets the bar high but can also throw a party. We have attractive employment conditions such as 25 vacation days and 3 extra ‘compensation days’, a holiday allowance of 8%, a pension scheme with Nationale Nederlanden, travel allowance, working from home and office and various memorable team activities. The salary for this position is based on our own salary house, scale 11.
